Versace was founded by Italian designer Gianni
Versace during the late 20th century and grew into one of the most
popular fashion brands by the 1980s. Versace’s creative genius challenged the
boundaries of the fashion industry by introducing bold cuts, vibrant colors,
unconventional prints, and eccentric fabrics. Versace’s love of abstract modern
art was reflected in his designs through
the use of primary colors and geometric forms. The signature Versace look is that of
an aggressive sexy woman - one who would wear
skin-tight clothes with low cuts and high slits on her skirts.
Versace was among the first to revive the cat
suit, to bring back the mini skirt, to show tights worn as trousers, and to
bring the bustier out at night and bead it. Above all, Versace was known as the
Rock-and Roll designer. Celebrities Madonna, Tina Turner, Elton John and
Michael Jackson were among his most well-known clients.
Beaded eyeglass holders can add
a sassy Versace appeal to your daily attire - if you wear glasses that is. Beads of vibrant colors, creative textures, geometric shapes, animal prints, and
bright gold accents are key to that daring appearance. Various pieces from
the Medalye Designs collection have a hint of Versace in them.
Vogue,
for instance, is an especially appropriate
piece. It was inspired by the house of Versace. Flat
rectangles with a dark orange and black tiger print are complemented with dots
of shimmering gold. Vogue can be an artistic and flamboyant addition to
a ‘faux’ snakeskin purse or shoes. This is as dramatic as it gets.
Serengeti
offers a fun yet fashionable appeal that Versace was
known for. This design was inspired by the wildlife
that roams the plains of Africa. Made from hand
painted ivory cream wooden beads and a striking
leopard pattern, this style will certainly enliven your
wardrobe and catch that wondering eye.
Fame
was
inspired by the Rock-and-Roll glamour of legendary artists such as Tina Turner. Fame’s primary bead is a black, hand painted cone streaked with a bold copper
line and feather strokes of brown and white. The style is complemented by
stunning copper seed beads and luster black beads. The
overall effect is nothing short of glitz and glamour. Add a black leather jacket, highlight
your hair, put on those large rhinestone studded sunglasses
and it's time for a cat walk.
Best Wishes,
Jacqueline Medalye
